SPHERICAL, CYLINDRICAL AND SPECIAL LENSES

We at Gestione SILO are able to provide lenses in various shapes and sizes, with plane-convex, biconvex, biconcave, positive and negative meniscus models. Thanks to the approximately 2300 forms of control we have available, together with the various thousands of equipment designed to work with different techniques, we are able to ensure a result of absolute quality. We work the glass from catalogs like Shott, Hoya, Ohara, CDGM as well as ZnSe, fused silica, Germanium, Silicon, ZnS, CaF2, MgF2.

In our workshops, we can make the right equipment for your application. All our lenses can be supplied with or without coating.

Spherical lenses

Flat-convex, biconvex, biconcave lenses, positive and negative menisci have always been one of our strengths, especially in high precision.

Materials for IR, Visible and Ultraviolet, worked with different techniques for obtaining high quality polishing.

> Superficial Accuracy (at 633nm): up to λ / 20 in relation to material and size

> Surface quality (Scratch and Dig): from 60/40 to 10/5

> Centering: from 3Arcmin to 10Arcsec in relation to geometry

Cylindrical lenses

Lenses with one or both cylindrical surfaces, both positive and negative, generate a linear focus. They are mostly used in anamorphic and projection systems.

> Spokes: from 2 mm to infinity

> Surface accuracy: up to λ / 10 depending on the materials and geometric characteristics

> Surface quality (Scratch and Dig): from 60/40 to 10/5

> Variation of the thickness at the edge: +/- 0.1 mm

Special lenses

Toric Lenses -We manufacture and distribute this type of lens mainly for scientific or laboratory applications.

Generally we make toric completely customized and adapted to customer needs.

Ball Lens -Spherical lenses of various sizes generally used for fiber couplings, endoscopic systems.

Cap lenses (Dome) -Concentric ray menisks generally used as protection for others.

Doublets-achromatic triplets

We produce achromatic doublets of various shapes and geometries, matching the flint and crown glasses of the reference glass catalogs and optimizing them for the needs of the customer.

Accurate choice of the type of adhesive to fully satisfy both the structural and functional needs of the component.

Centering: from 3 Arcmin to <30 Arcsec

Freeform Lenses

We use advanced CNC machines to manufacture plano-convex, biconvex, biconcave or meniscus lenses with a non-circular edge: simple or complex geometric shapes with bevels and fittings can be prepared with the precisions required in this field.

Spokes: from 2 mm to infinity

Diameters: from 4 mm to 250 mm (more for circular edges)

Surface Accuracy: Up to λ/20 depending on material and size

Surface Quality: S-D up to 10/5 or 5/2x0,063

Centering: up to 10"

Optical surface: spherical or cylindrical
